Delectable Diamond Studs

We very much enjoyed making these beautiful diamond studs – with a combined weight of 1.50ct, these wonderful F colour, SI1 clarity modern round brilliant diamonds are sure to be a show-stopper any time our client wears them!

Diamond studs are often set in very simple rub over or claw settings, so it was particularly interesting for us to do something a little more refined and detailed with the elegant scroll work on the sides of the collets between the claws.

The earrings where created using computer aided design in 3designCAD and zBrush, then 3d printed in a castable wax, before being cast into 18ct white gold.

Once cast, the earring were pre-polished and the hard wire white gold posts were soldered to the back of the earrings (its always best to use this hard wire (sometimes called pin wire) for posts.

The diamonds were then carefully set into the white gold earring mounts by our in house setting team, under a microscope.

We hope you’ll agree these earrings are a real visual treat – just enough subtle detail to really set off the diamonds combined with the perfectly filed and polished knife edge claws – when viewed from the top, the claws almost disappear!
