There is an unmistakable energy and buzz around Fashion Week. As models glide down the runways of Paris, Milan, London, and New York, framed by dramatic lighting and high-fashion couture, the jewellery world turns its gaze to the future. From show-stopping statement necklaces to opulent, one-of-a-kind creations, these high-profile moments lay the groundwork for what we will all be wearing in the years to come.
Here in our Chichester workshop at Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery, we often see how high-concept runway pieces are translated and scaled down into wearable, everyday luxury. The journey from the red carpet to our shop floor is a fascinating one, and as we look ahead toward 2027, the jewellery trends taking shape are vibrant, playful, and deeply personal.
It is easy to watch an award show or haute couture runway and wonder: does anyone actually wear that in real life?
In the luxury jewellery industry, high fashion serves as a conceptual testing ground. When a celebrity showcases a daring new silhouette—perhaps an oversized cocktail ring, an unconventional gemstone pairing, or an elaborate choker—it initiates a quiet ripple effect across the design landscape.
Typically, it takes around one to two years for these avant-garde red-carpet moments to trickle down to grass-roots shop floor level. Design houses adapt the concepts, master craftspeople refine the proportions for comfortable daily wear, and trend-conscious individuals begin asking for similar motifs. It might even just be the colour palette that emerges rather than the bold design. By the time a concept arrives at our Chichester counter, it has evolved from runway theatricality into an elegant, highly wearable piece of fine jewellery tailored to a client’s personal lifestyle.
Recent fashion seasons have embraced unabashed glamour, with two standout campaigns capturing the world’s imagination and setting the tone for upcoming design cycles:
A jaw-dropping $50 Million masterpiece of engineering and gemmology, this high-jewellery creation worn by Kylie Jenner at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show reminded the world of the joy found in scale, exquisite craftsmanship, and theatrical sparkle. It heralded a return to grand, unapologetic luxury crafted in 18ct white gold, with a dazzling 4,410 carats of diamonds and featuring a stunning bespoke custom Angel cut yellow diamond in the centre-perhaps an ode to the Desert Diamonds Campaign from DeBeers or the Tiffany Canary Yellow. It is a testament to what the goldsmiths and stonesetters can achieve, how far their skills will take them and stretching their abilities to produce something that rivals an artistic masterpiece.

Celebrating the raw, earthy majesty of natural diamonds formed over millennia, this campaign from 2025 has brought organic beauty and warm tones back into the spotlight, reminding collectors of the romantic lineage of natural gemstones and that you don’t have to have pure white diamonds to have beautiful diamonds.

Together, these high-profile launches have ignited and reflected a broader shift in consumer appetite: we are seeing a clear move away from delicate, ultra-minimalist pieces in favour of bigger, bolder, and more playful jewellery but namely an increased demand for yellow, champagne, chocolate brown and cognac coloured diamonds.

One of the most noticeable shifts in our Chichester workshop has been the interest for yellow and champagne coloured diamonds. Their warm lemony or champagne tinted hues offer a joyful and subtle individuality for engagement rings, dress rings, and anniversary gifts alike.
Hand-in-hand with yellow diamonds comes a revived devotion to yellow gold. Despite global bullion market prices remaining consistently high, public enthusiasm for rich yellow gold has not faltered. Our clients actively seek out the warmth and classic radiance that 18ct yellow gold imparts. Throughout this past year, we have designed and hand-crafted significantly more yellow gold pieces than last year—a clear sign that warmth and traditional elegance remain paramount.
Modern jewellery lovers are embracing colour like never before. While traditional blue sapphires and classic white diamonds remain timeless choices, contemporary collectors are seeking distinctive shades that feel uniquely theirs.
Currently reigning in popularity in the world of coloured gemstones are teal sapphires which have increased in price dramatically over the last 3 years as demand has also soared. Blending deep ocean blues with rich forest greens, teal sapphires possess an enchanting dichroic quality—changing subtly under different light source conditions. Because no two natural teal sapphires share the exact same hue, they appeal directly to clients seeking a piece of jewellery that cannot be replicated.
Alongside teal sapphires, overall interest in multi-coloured every day rings, fancy-coloured gemstones, and playful gemstone combinations continues to gather momentum as we approach 2027. We have made rings with multiple coloured birthstones, fun pinks and purples and even dramatic red and yellow combinations. Our customers are embracing colour and doing it confidently.
The fine jewellery landscape has evolved with the rise of synthetic diamonds. As laboratory-created diamonds have gained popularity for their accessible price point, the market for natural diamonds has adjusted dynamically.
To remain competitive, natural diamond prices have moderated slightly, making natural stones more accessible to buyers who value the geologic history and rarity of natural gems. Whether a client chooses a laboratory-grown diamond for maximum scale or a natural diamond for its heritage, diamond jewellery has become noticeably more reachable across the board—allowing collectors to dream bigger when planning custom pieces.
At Timothy Roe, customisation lies at the heart of everything we do. Creating a bespoke piece of jewellery is an emotional journey, but bridging the gap between a client’s imagination and a finished piece of fine jewellery can sometimes be tricky and for the customer is can feel daunting trying to explain an idea in their head to a stranger who has to interpret this into a physical 3D product.
Recently, our customers and we have been experimenting with AI and this has proven quite helpful in assisting the design process alongside our CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

As we head towards 2027, the overriding sentiment in fine jewellery trends is joyful self-expression. The upcoming seasons will celebrate pieces that tell a personal story through bold colour, rich warm metals, and custom-tailored silhouettes. Whether our predictions are correct remains to be seen but based on what we know so far our guesses for next year will be:
| Trend Focus | Key Characteristics | The Timothy Roe Chichester Take |
| Warm Metal Dominance | High-carat yellow gold, warm tactile finishes | Increased demand for heavy yellow gold bands and bezels |
| Fancy & Coloured Gems | Yellow diamonds, deep teal sapphires, rich sapphires | Three stone rings, halo solitaires and contemporary dress rings |
| Playful Scale | Bold cocktail rings, chunky chain links, tactile forms | Chunky bespoke signets and multi-stone dress rings |
| Tech-Assisted Bespoke | AI conceptualisation combined with CAD and hand bench-craft | Interactive design sessions resulting in truly unique heirlooms |
