Hello March!
Is anyone else quietly delighted to see March arrive? We’ve noticed a subtle but unmistakable shift in both the air and the mood — the earthy scent of tulips pushing through the soil, the first green shoots returning to the trees, and evenings that linger just a little longer. With brighter days and, we hope, fewer rainy ones, we welcome the sunshine—it has a wonderful way of lifting spirits and we’ve missed it! As the clocks spring forward this month, we can expect longer evenings, warmer days, and the gentle sense of lightness that comes with leaving winter behind. Spring brings colour, optimism, and the promise of fresh beginnings.
To welcome the season, we have created exquisite limited-edition floral pieces as part of our Bud and Bloom collection, specially designed for the Aldingbourne Trust Flower Ball which was held at Goodwood House last Saturday evening. Guests were treated to a private unveiling of these designs, revealed fresh from our bench, and the response was wonderful! Inspired by the beauty of spring blooms, with a subtle nod to the era of Victorian floriography, these pieces will soon be appearing on our website and social media, and we very much look forward to sharing them with you. Here is a sneak peak exclusive for our newsletter subscribers! There are still more items to reveal so pop in to see them or follow us on Instagram to wait for the reveal!
Behind the scenes, our bespoke work continues at pace. We have been privileged to transform treasured heirlooms, personal stories and new inspirations into pieces that are entirely individual — jewellery designed not simply to be worn, but to be lived with and passed on. Gold has risen once again following last month’s brief dip, and despite wider economic fluctuations, interest in fine jewellery remains strong. Alongside enduring demand for heritage craftsmanship, gold and timeless luxury, we are also seeing a growing appreciation for alternative metals, particularly sculptural silver and platinum, whose cool tones have featured prominently on recent runways.
In terms of design, the key takeaways from New York Fashion Week and industry reports from London for 2026 are expressive and assured. Gold hoops, gold Huggies and 14ct gold seem to be in high demand which is interesting as most of our clients choose either 9ct or 18ct. It will be interesting to see if this changes. Statement jewellery continues to eclipse minimalism, with bold silhouettes, sculptural forms and vibrant gemstones taking centre stage. Yet even amid these broader trends, what resonates most strongly is individuality. Jewellery is increasingly chosen not simply to accessorise, but to reflect identity, sentiment and personal narrative — something we have always believed lies at the heart of true luxury.
Things coming up in March to look forward to: International Women’s Day on the 8th offers an opportunity to honour the strength, creativity and resilience of women at every stage of life — qualities we are fortunate to witness daily among our clients, colleagues and community. St. Patrick’s Day follows with its joyful embrace of rich green hues, from vivid emerald to subtle peridot, while the remarkable achievements showcased at the Winter Paralympic Games remind us all of the extraordinary power of determination and spirit.
Later in the month, Mothering Sunday provides a chance to express gratitude for the love and guidance that shape our lives. A thoughtfully chosen piece of jewellery carries sentiment far beyond the moment it is given, becoming a lasting reminder of appreciation. Should you be considering a gift, we would be delighted to help you find something truly meaningful from our wide selection of silver, gold and gemstone jewellery.
Looking ahead, April marks a very special milestone for us as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. For three decades, it has been our privilege to serve you with craftsmanship, care and dedication, and we are quietly preparing to mark the occasion with a few celebratory touches.
As always, thank you for your continued trust and support. We look forward to welcoming you in store and online throughout this bright and promising new month.
Wishing you all a wonderful March.

Aquamarine is the birthstone for March!
Aquamarine is the birthstone for March, and few gemstones capture the essence of the season so beautifully. A member of the beryl family — alongside emerald and morganite — aquamarine has been treasured for centuries for its luminous green-blue tones and remarkable clarity, reminiscent of crystal-clear sea water. Its captivating colour is created by trace elements of iron, and in its natural state it forms elegant hexagonal prism crystals, a quiet testament to nature’s precision and artistry.
We invite you to explore our new and classic aquamarine designs. Fresh and versatile, this cool, tranquil hue transitions effortlessly between seasons — evoking a tropical lagoon in summer or a minted glacier in winter. Long associated with clarity, courage and harmony, aquamarine feels especially fitting as we step into spring and new beginnings.
For gentlemen, March also offers the distinguished alternative of bloodstone. With its deep British Racing Green base and striking red iron flecks, this historic gemstone symbolises strength and vitality, offering a bold and meaningful choice for those celebrating a March birthday.
Whether marking a special occasion or selecting something purely for pleasure, these timeless gemstones make thoughtful and enduring gifts.

Q&A with our newest member of the team
Get to know Marie; our junior goldsmith apprentice who has just moved to Chichester.
1. What made you interested in jewellery and what has been your background to date?
My auntie is a jeweller so she inspired me to learn the craft from an early age. Back home in the Czech Republic I went to a specialist design school to learn gold-and silversmithing and I have worked in this industry in various places; Czech Republic, Portugal, Brighton UK and now I am at Timothy Roe in Chichester.
2. What’s your favourite tool?
I love the ring bending pliers—they are so versatile. I can squeeze, hold, bend and shape metal. It is a great little tool!
3. What was your favourite project?
For my boyfriend’s 30th birthday I made him a 9ct yellow gold signet ring with black diamonds in it. This was not only beautiful but really personal and he loved it.
4. What do you like about your job?
Honestly, it might sound silly but I just really love making pretty things! I get to be creative and make things that look beautiful and this makes me happy.
5. Favourite metal or gemstone?
For me my favourite metal is 18ct yellow gold or 18ct white gold but just not rhodium plated. Some people might think this is strange but I love the creamy tint of yellow in the white gold and I don’t want to hide this under a layer of white rhodium.
And my favourite gemstone? I love sapphires! I love them because they come in a wide range of colours, are hard and durable and just fun. I love pink sapphires the most and generally I just love any gemstone with inclusions—it makes them so interesting to look at and different.
