Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery Repair Terms & Conditions
We care deeply about looking after your jewellery, doing a professional job, and making sure our customers are happy.
That said, repair work by its nature can sometimes involve unforeseen issues. We believe in being transparent about those risks from the outset. Please read the following carefully before leaving your item(s) with us for repair.
Tickets & Receipts
â¢You must bring your ticket with you when you come in to collect your item.
â¢Without the ticket, Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery reserve the right to refuse collection of your item(s).
â¢Other acceptable identification that is valid upon collecting an item include a Passport or a Drivers Licence (Photo cards only).
â¢We will not accept bus passes, paper drivers licenses, membership cards or bank cards.
Estimates & Assessment
â¢Any estimates given in the shop are guidelines only.
â¢Final pricing may change after your item has been thoroughly assessed in the workshop.
â¢If adjustments to the original estimate are necessary, we will contact you before proceeding.
Turnaround Times
â¢Turnaround times are approximate, and may vary depending on workload, holidays, or workshop capacity.
â¢We will keep you updated on any significant delays.
Hallmarking, Engraving & Resizing
â¢When a ring is resized or a new shank is fitted, the original hallmark and/or engraving may be lost.
â¢If you require the item to be re-hallmarked, an £85.00 fee applies for re-marking through the Assay Office.
â¢Engraving will be priced upon application / as required.
Pearls & Beaded Necklaces / Bracelets
â¢Pearls and beads are typically strung on thread, which stretches and weakens over time.
â¢Daily-wear pieces may need restringing approximately every 8 months.
â¢Please avoid wearing strung necklaces in water or while sleeping and take care not to pull or catch them.
â¢Strung items will eventually break with use – regular maintenance is essential for their longevity.
Unforeseen Issues
If any unforeseen issues arise during the repair or work on your item(s), we may need to adjust the method, timescale, or cost of the job. This could include, but is not limited to, situations such as:
â¢Stones becoming loose after adjusting the finger size of a ring.
â¢Hidden cracks or structural weaknesses in metal.
â¢Loose, fragile or damaged stones becoming apparent during setting or cleaning.
â¢Incompatibility between customer-supplied materials and the planned process.
â¢Difficulty sourcing specific components.
â¢We will always contact you first to discuss any changes before proceeding further.
Finger Sizes
â¢We can only make the ring to the size that you select – our team will advise you of their opinion, but we will only make the ring to a size that you have agreed.
â¢We can only size a ring to fit one finger.
â¢Please bear in mind ambient temperature and any recent exercise/physical activity as this can have an effect on your finger size.
â¢Any further adjustments will incur charges. Please be sure that you are happy with the finger size that you have chosen. If you are not 100% certain, it is better to wait and have your finger size checked again on another day.
