Hello January!
Happy New Year — Hello 2026 ✨
We’re back and ready for a brand-new year of designing and creating beautiful jewellery. We hope you enjoyed the festive celebrations and are easing gently back into routines, school runs, and the rhythm of everyday life.
January always feels like a fresh chapter. While the trees and decorations are packed away and the colder days invite a little hibernation, it’s also the perfect time to look ahead—planning holidays, weddings, christenings, and those milestone birthdays and anniversaries we love to celebrate, and of course planning all the jewellery we will wear to these events.
Across the globe 2026 is shaping up to be a year full of excitement. The FIFA World Cup will take place across Canada, Mexico, and the USA, America turns 250 years old, the Winter Olympics and Paralympics are taking place in February, the Spice Girls celebrate their 30th anniversary (for those who remember!), there will be all the annual music festivals and for us, this year is especially meaningful as we celebrate our own 30th anniversary, with beautiful jewellery at the heart of it all.
A Year of Strength, Movement & Elegance
On February 17th, we enter the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese zodiac—a symbol of endurance, independence, and powerful forward motion. The horse represents strength, momentum, and quiet confidence, and we expect these qualities to influence design throughout the year. Look out for equestrian-inspired details, refined horse-bit motifs, and fluid, sculptural forms that feel modern while gently nodding to heritage.
Colour Direction: Cloud Dancer & Earthy Neutrals
This year’s palette softens, moving away from richer tones like mocha mousse while still embracing warmth. Pantone’s Cloud Dancer, a light and airy neutral, sets the tone alongside sand, stone, taupe, and warm greys. Whether these shades move beyond fashion and interiors into jewellery remains to be seen, but they provide a beautiful backdrop for precious metals and gemstones to shine.
While teal sapphires and blue-green stones have dominated recent years, major jewellery houses are predicting a return to bold colour this spring/summer—think rubies, pink and yellow sapphires, tanzanites, and emeralds—alongside earthy diamond tones. De Beers’ Desert Diamonds campaign highlights chocolate, honey, champagne, and cognac diamonds inspired by desert landscapes. As neutral wardrobes continue to prevail, statement jewellery becomes a wonderful way to express personality and individuality.
Jewellery Trends said to Shape the Year
Here’s what we’re expecting to see more of in 2026:
Maximum layering and convertible pieces for effortless styling
A playful return to the 1970s with bold shapes and vibrant colour
Sculptural minimalism—strong forms with restrained detail
Textural finishes such as brushed, hammered, and matte gold
Symbolic motifs reflecting strength, movement, and personal meaning
Gold in Focus
With gold prices continuing to rise, there’s renewed appreciation for gold jewellery as both an emotional and enduring investment. Higher values are encouraging more intentional design—clean lines, considered weight, and pieces crafted to be worn often and treasured for generations. Heirloom-quality craftsmanship and bespoke design are firmly back in focus, replacing fast-fashion accessories.
Gold prices are expected to rise more steadily this year—around 5% compared to last year’s dramatic increase—although this will, as always, depend on global economic and political stability.
As the year unfolds, we look forward to sharing designs inspired by these influences—jewellery made to move with you, mark meaningful moments, and feel quietly powerful, bringing confidence and that unmistakable feel-good factor when worn.
Reminder: Caring for Your Jewellery
As the sparkle of party season fades, the quieter winter months are the perfect time to care for your treasured pieces:
Deep cleaning to restore brilliance
Resizing for the perfect fit
Repairs to clasps, settings, or loose stones
Claw retipping for added security
Valuation updates for insurance or records
Pop in anytime—we’d love to check over your favourites, refresh their shine, and have them ready to dazzle when summer arrives.

News From the Bench:
Meet our apprentice, Brad. Here is our Q&A with our newest member of the team:
1. What made you interested in jewellery and what has been your background to date?
My interest in jewellery comes from a passion for fine metalwork, mostly as a bladesmith and knifemaker, but also as a bronze caster. I also enjoy using these skills to bring old things back to life restoring antique tools, watches, and musical instruments, as well as jewellery of course. Metalwork doesn't get finer than goldsmithing, and that's what made me want to move into this area.
2. What’s your favourite tool?
My favourite tool is the hammer. You can shape metal with it but also create beautiful finishes and sculptural effects. It’s a universal tool for multiple things.
3. What was your favourite project?
All my favourite projects are ones which involve repairing something that means a lot to someone, it's always a privilege to be able to help.
4. What do you like about your job?
The work itself is what I like most about my job, I find it very satisfying.
5. Favourite metal or gemstone?
My favourite metal is gold, and I like deep red gemstones, like garnets and dark rubies.
