The Platinum Jubilee Hallmark

Previously an optional mark with an additional charge, from today and for the remainder of 2022 we will be applying this mark to all bespoke jewellery that we create in house with no further charges in addition to the standard assay costs.

At the end of 2021, the British Hallmarking Council announced an optional commemorative Jubilee hallmark to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee - 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II on the throne. It depicts an orb with her majesty’s initials and a large ‘70’.

Immediately after her passing, the usage of the mark was suspended and no longer available to add to precious metal jewellery made in 2022.

In recent days, the four UK assay offices (London, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Sheffield), after special consultation with the King’s Assay Master, announced that the mark will again be able to be applied for the remainder of 2022.

We will be adding this to all bespoke jewellery made in our workshops for the rest of this year, 2022.
