Established in 1986, Alex Monroe creates great quality, wearable jewellery, which is originally designed and well priced. Heavily inspired by nature, the designs have a distinctly british flavour and pieces are manufactured at his London studio, rather than a factory abroad.

Bjorg

Bjørg Nordli-Mathisen grew up in the north of Norway and began making one-of-a-kind jewellery whilst living in India in 2004. With a background from the arts, she has upheld a nomadic lifestyle, always drifting towards new corners of the world in search of inspiration.  Jewellery from Bjørg has been seen on artists such as Madonna, Rihanna, Lykke Li, Robyn, Kelly Rowland, Coco Sumner, Jessie J, Röyksopp and actress Noomi Rapace.

Nomination

The idea for a fashion accessory capable of expressing one’s personality, values, passions, politics, secrets and sensibilities originated with Paolo Gensini in the small town of Sesto Fiorentino, near Florence Italy.

Intrigued by the customisable aspect of traditional charm bracelets, Gensini devised a modular or ‘composable’ bracelet comprised of a series of links. Connected by a spring-loaded mechanism, each segment could be filled (and replaced), one by one, with a different decorative design. Fashioned out of high quality stainless steel, the pieces were guaranteed never to tarnish or fade.
