Favourite Flower Necklace

Celebrating a wedding anniversary can be a magical moment, but how about celebrating a golden 50th anniversary not of your wedding but of the day when you met your future partner! Mr. Wensley, one of our most loyal customers has done just that.

After catching the eye of a beautiful woman who was just about to leave a crowded party across a dance floor Mr. Wensley rushed towards her and said 'Where are you going? Do you want to dance?' As she placed her hand in his and he whisked her onto the dance floor, he placed his arms around her pulled her in close and whispered 'We fit well together...'

Traditionally on the 50th wedding anniversary you celebrate and gift your partner a gold present. We asked Mr. Wensley what kind of gift he would like to surprise his wife with and he replied; Gold, necklace or bracelet, and inspired by her favourite flowers which were clematis, rose, daffodil and tulip.

With this information in mind Tim designed a 42” long 9ct yellow gold necklace that had 4 different flowers repeated evenly along the chain. Each flower link took between 2 and 3 hours to model within the 3d cad workflow and with these completed they were 3d printed and cast into gold. We initially tried a satin finish to the flower links but our customer preferred a polished look which better matched the chain. A subtle message was added to the side of the flower links with a singular word engraved on each which spelled out the phrase “We, fit, well, together.’

The four finished 3d modelled flower links with rings attached and “sprues” attached, used for feeding the molten gold into the moulds.

Hours of careful planning, design and craftsmanship went into creating this romantic and heart-warming gift. The necklace was placed into our signature purple box and finished off with a hand-written note that read, ‘A bouquet of flowers for my English rose.’

Our customer in turn, hid the box inside a huge cake which was presented to the happy couple and their friends in the restaurant where they were celebrating. Mrs Wensley then cut into the cake to find the secret it contained!
