Chris

Bespoke manager

I’ve been with Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery for nearly 15 years now. When crafting bespoke jewellery pieces, I love meeting all of our clients and hearing their stories, then trying to encapsulate everything into a personalised creation. With expertise in CAD, 3D scanning, and 3D printing, I like to embrace new technologies while balancing them with traditional design methods.

My favourite part of my job is the design and technical challenge. I can’t resist the challenge of creating something technically difficult, something to stretch my abilities. It’s been amazing to hone my skills over the years at Timothy Roe.

Dan

General manager

In my role, I love being able to see a customer at the beginning of the process, see their jewellery take shape from design, through to manufacturing and crafting, and finally to presenting the completed jewellery personally – and seeing their reaction – that is always very enjoyable and rewarding. Jewellery is often given at important milestones in our clients' lives and carries great sentimental weight – so it's nice to play a small part in that.

I’ve been immersed in jewellery for as long as I can remember, making my first piece – a letter ā€œJā€ pendant for a teacher – at just 11 years old. Growing up, I was surrounded by my dad’s design sketches and inspired by the artistry of fine jewellery. This passion naturally evolved into a lifelong career.

Tim

Owner and head designer

My first job was working in a jeweller's on Chichester’s South Street in 1975, before eventually starting a business buying and selling antique jewellery. I then decided to pursue my passion for creating fine jewellery and finally opened Timothy Roe in 1996.Ā

My favourite part of the job today is the ability to not just create something, but to execute it brilliantly by using the talented and highly skilled team we have here, and the wealth of creative tools at our disposal that we have built up over the last 30 years.Ā

Brad

Goldsmith

Before joining Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery in 2025 as a goldsmith apprentice, I developed a strong foundation in fine metalwork through my work as a bladesmith and knifemaker, as well as a bronze caster and restorer of antique tools, watches, and instruments. That experience sparked a fascination with precision and artistry, which naturally led me to the world of goldsmithing, where metalwork doesn’t get finer.Ā

What I enjoy most about my role is the hands-on process of creating and restoring meaningful pieces. I’m particularly drawn to repair work, bringing treasured, sentimental jewellery back to life for its owner. My favourite tool is the hammer, simple yet powerful, and I enjoy working with gold alongside deep red gemstones like garnets and rubies, admired for their rich, timeless beauty.

Dimitrios

Master Goldsmith

I’m originally from Greece, and I’ve been working as a jeweller for over 27 years. I love my role as a goldsmith, and I take real pride in the skill and steadiness I bring to the bench. That said, I often say that my favourite ā€œtoolā€ is my team because, just like in fine jewellery, teamwork and trust are what make everything stronger.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is transforming old or broken pieces into something completely new. There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking what looks like scrap and giving it new life, watching it become a piece that someone will treasure for years to come.

I also try to keep things in perspective. I always remind myself — and others — that ā€œno one dies if I mess up.ā€ It’s a simple truth that helps me remember that making jewellery should be a joyful process. After all, we’re creating pieces that celebrate life’s most meaningful moments, and that’s something to feel good about every day.

Karl

Master Stonesetter

I’m originally from Hungary, and I’ve been working in jewellery for over 34 years now. My focus is on rings, engraving, and detailed stone setting – the kind of work that requires precision, patience, and a real love for the craft.

Rings have always been my passion, especially those with fishtail settings and engraved shanks. I enjoy combining gemstones with detailed metalwork to create pieces that are both striking and built to last. I believe that ornate engraving doesn’t just add beauty, it gives the piece strength and character, helping it stand up to everyday wear while still feeling special.

Mike

Goldsmith

Before joining Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery, I spent nearly 15 years in the jewellery industry, developing my skills as a goldsmith and continually exploring new techniques and approaches. I’ve always been drawn to the balance of precision and creativity that jewellery making demands, and I take great pride in transforming raw materials into something truly special.

What I love most about my role is the variety each day brings. No two pieces are ever the same, and there’s always something new to learn or refine. I particularly enjoy working with a laser welder, which allows me to tackle even the most intricate details with accuracy. Creating rope twist bands is another favourite of mine — it’s a challenging style, but one I find incredibly rewarding for its flowing form and distinctive character.

Recto

Master Stonesetter

I’ve been making jewellery for 35 years now, but it all started when I was growing up in the Philippines. My brothers and I would work side by side, learning the craft together — and I’m proud to say we're all still in the industry today. Over the decades, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering this art, and every piece I create still teaches me something new.

I do what I love and love what I do! I take pride in setting beautiful stones. It’s not about the end result. For me, it is the process, the finesse and working on something until it is absolutely perfect. We don’t cut corners here. We know that when a customer wears a piece we have created, it is of the highest quality. We know every detail and every part has been meticulously polished and worked on, and we take pride in that.Ā

Marie

Apprentice Goldsmith

I’ve recently joined Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery as a junior goldsmith apprentice, bringing my creativity and enthusiasm into the workshop. My passion for jewellery began at a young age, inspired by my aunt, who is also a jeweller. I trained at a specialist design school in the Czech Republic and gained experience across Europe, including Portugal and Brighton, before moving to Chichester.

Working in the workshop has been an exciting step, allowing me to develop my skills and learn from an experienced team. My favourite tool is the ring-bending pliers for their versatility in shaping and forming metal.

I love creating meaningful pieces, particularly in 18ct yellow and white gold. I’m especially drawn to sapphires, particularly pink tones and stones with unique inclusions that give each piece its own character.

Becky

Sales Consultant

Before joining Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery, I worked in scientific research. While raising my children, I found myself drawn to a more creative path and began taking silversmithing courses. That hobby quickly grew into something more, and I started my own jewellery business, selling my designs at craft fairs and in local shops. Once my children were older, I returned to part-time work and found a wonderful place here as part of the Timothy Roe team.

What I love most about my role is the variety. I’m always learning something new, meeting fascinating people, and working alongside a group of incredibly talented colleagues who are just as passionate about jewellery as I am.

Charlie

Sales Expert & Gemstone Specialist

I’ve been working in jewellery for nearly 12 years now. My jewellery journey began unexpectedly in Germany, where a part-time Christmas job in a store’s jewellery department turned into a decade-long passion. After working in retail banking and later gold bullion, my love for gemstones reignited, inspiring me to return to the UK in 2023 to pursue gemmology and jewellery full-time. Working in manufacturing has been a huge, but rewarding, leap. I’ve gained a whole other level of jewellery knowledge.Ā

My favourite part of the job is talking about gems and educating customers on them. Little quirky facts and interesting whimsical details just make it fun. I love that my role is so varied and can be creative, but also technical and science-related. This passion is something I channel into the blog posts at Timothy Roe.

Fliss

Sales Consultant

I joined Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery in 2025, and from day one, I’ve been drawn to the artistry and detail that go into every bespoke piece. I’ve always had a creative streak, and I genuinely love working closely with people, so being a sales consultant here feels like the perfect fit.

What I enjoy most is sitting down with customers for bespoke consultations. There’s something incredibly special about helping someone turn their ideas into a piece of jewellery that’s completely personal to them. I love showcasing the gemstones from our in-house collection and watching their excitement grow as the design starts to take shape.

What’s made this journey even more rewarding is the team around me. I’m surrounded by incredibly skilled, supportive people who take real pride in what they do, and that passion is contagious.

Grace

Sales Team Leader

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for fine jewellery, but my professional journey began 8 years ago when I joined Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery straight after university, and I’ve never looked back. Being part of a family-run business where craftsmanship and creativity are at the heart of everything we do has been both inspiring and rewarding.Ā

No two days are ever the same, and that’s what makes it so special. We meet the most incredible people from all walks of life who share our appreciation for the finer things. Whether it’s seeing a couple get engaged, helping them choose their wedding bands, or creating an eternity ring to celebrate a first child, we’re privileged to be part of life’s most meaningful milestones. Knowing we’ve played even a small role in someone’s love story is what keeps me inspired.
