Coelacanth Pendant
Sterling Silver Coelacanth Pendant
Features a rubover set natural blue sapphire and an oxidised antique finish.
This amazing fish was thought to have gone extinct with the dinosaurs yet in 1938 a fresh specimen was discovered at Sodwana Bay, South Africa. In 1990 wild coelacanths were filmed by a remarkable (if tragic) feat of expedition diving. Since then another population of coelacanths have been discovered in Indonesia. This silver coelacanth measures 4.2cm and has a cabochon sapphire for its eye. Living at depths of over 150m Coelacanths make the ideal mascot for deep divers.
